Interprovincial Bowl Series - NCAFA v Quebec

NCAFA is pleased to announce the implementation of an Inter-provincial Bowl Series (IBS) that will take place on Sunday, November 19 at Carleton University in Ottawa.
This series will pit the best PeeWee, Bantam and Midget teams from the MRFL, QBFL, QMFL and NCAFA in an end of season tournament that follows completion of league and provincial championships. This is a great opportunity to showcase the talents and skills of area athletes / coaches and is another initiative aimed at promoting football in our respective regions. Quebec has a long-standing tradition of excellence in football and the NCAFA is very pleased to be working with such strong organizations.
The recent age change implemented by the NCAFA now aligns with Quebec and was a key enabler to allow this tournament to take hold. There are other differences between our leagues, the MRFL has weight limits, all Quebec leagues play 4-down football and nose to nose on the line. The only exception is CIS who play traditional Canadian rules 3-down football. For this tournament we will be using Quebec rules, however there will be no weight limits and NCAFA Midget will still be able to play their 18-year-olds...NCAFA Midget ages are 16-18.
This tournament will replace the NCAFA All-Star event previously held at this time. However NCAFA was still an announce an ‘All-Star’ team at each level at the end of December.
In moving forward with this initiative, we open doors to multiple possibilities;
* interlocking schedule at Midget
* possible head to head games at other levels.
* inclusion of the Mosquito and possibly Tyke/Atom levels
All of these initiatives are aimed at promoting the sport of football and providing our partners in Quebec opportunities that are short two hours down the highway.
There will be more information to come, however, check out HESN and Facebook for power rankings between Quebec at the PeeWee, Bantam and Midget levels.
At the end of next week the NCAFA champions will be crowned and will be our representatives at the inaugural Inter-provincial Bowl Championships!
