On June 7th in Guelph, ON, the CCWFL had their first video shoot and showed #ItsOurGameToo! Click here for the press release from CCWFL President, Aaron Ellis.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the following people for their efforts in helping us produce our promotional video for the Central Canada Women’s Football League!

First I would like to thank the people who gave up a beautiful Saturday afternoon and battled killer mosquitos in order to get this video completed in the allotted time period. Everyone was patient, worked together and worked diligently to do what had to be done to make this happen. So I would like to say thank you to all the women who showed up to be out in front of the camera to promote women’s football and learned the plays in a short amount of time: Jamie Allen, Nicole Allen, Khristine Crooks, Sherryann Boyce, Lauren Blackshaw, Tianna Ellis, Creola Ienna, Terri-Lyn Burns, Diane Donaldson, Nicole Lake and Morganne Linthwaile.

A huge thank you to Dan and Mike Palermo of D/Vision films for producing and directing the video despite many obstacles and successfully capturing the essence of the CCWFL and encompassing our powerful vision for the league! Andrew Godard and all the amazing staff at the University of Guelph for allowing us to use their wonderful field, what an amazing campus filled with amazing people! We could not have asked for a better experience!

I would like to thank Nick Burns and Josh Prior for their invaluable technical direction helping our players learn different plays and supporting our players throughout the shoot. We couldn’t have done it without you! Scott Donaldson, Vito Scalisi and Chris Varga for all their hard work behind the scenes, in craft services, during set up to wrap up and everything in between! Don Lines for the wonderful and impactful photography and on camera cameo as the “referee” and Tracy Bezeau for her continued support for the CCWFL.

Thank you to my office staff Lauren Blackshaw and Stephanie Ambs for all their hard work leading up to the shoot making sure everything was set and ready for the big day on top of doing their job at the same time! Jeff Matheson, Head Coach of the King City Lions & King City Secondary School and the OFA for graciously lending us their equipment and uniforms helping to ensure the shoot was both professional and successful.

To my beautiful daughter Tianna- who not only was the inspiration behind the league- but also alerted me to the existence of women’s tackle football in the first place. I am motivated everyday by her continued perseverance and for never giving up her undying passion for tackle football!

And last but certainly not least…I would like to thank all the CCWFL’s supporters for all your likes, comments, shares and all of your encouraging support so far! I have had the pleasure of meeting some amazing and inspiring people on this journey and look forward to meeting more of you in the future! Without the support of all these amazing people our vision could not have become a reality!
Here are some photos for your enjoyment taken at the shoot!
