Ontario University Athletics and Ontario Football Alliance are pleased to announce the launch of the OUA Top Recruit Football Combine Series this coming December.

Hamilton, ON – Ontario University Athletics and Ontario Football Alliance are pleased to announce the launch of the OUA Top Recruit Football Combine Series this coming December.  The Combine Series will take place at eight different locations across Ontario over two weeks beginning in Ottawa on December 9. Each event in the series will give prospective OUA student-athlete football players the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of OUA coaches and recruiters from all eleven teams.

“The OUA Top Recruit Football Combine Series will be an outstanding opportunity for OUA to provide a greater number of talented student-athletes the opportunity to be identified by OUA teams and become exposed to the level of excellence our conference offers,” said Gord Grace, OUA Chief Executive Officer.

The three hour camps will include: physical testing, individual drills, one-on-ones, and the opportunity for teams and student-athletes to meet.  The combine series will be open to high school-aged players looking to continue their academic and athletic pursuits at the next level as a member of the preeminent university sport conference in Canada.  The OUA Combine Series will be the only talent identification camps in the province that will be attended by coaches and recruiters from OUA football programs.

“The Combine Series is a great opportunity for all OUA football coaches to get out and evaluate the student-athletes from across the province,” said Greg Marshall, Western University Head Football Coach.  “Recruiting and evaluation is the backbone of our football programs and these combines will allow us the opportunity to evaluate the outstanding talent we have in this province.”

The OUA Top Recruit Football Combine Series will also be a mandatory first step in the path to becoming a member of Team Ontario.  In order to receive an invitation to the January 2015 Team Ontario tryout camp, players must first attend an OUA Combine Series event. Ontario Football Alliance may grant special exemption on a case-by-case basis.

“Ontario Football Alliance is extremely excited to partner once again with OUA. This combine series, only strengthens our long-time relationship with OUA and its coaches and gives our players the opportunity to showcase their skills,” said Tina Turner, Executive Director of Ontario Football Alliance.

Registration for the camps will begin online in November through both OUA and OFA websites.   Early-bird online registration is $30 while on-site registration will be $45.  Each participant will receive an OUA information package including an official OUA Combine Series shirt.   Check back with oua.ca/toprecruit for more information in the coming months.
