Ontario Football announces extra non-contact day for Inaugural Provincial Mega Clinic
OFA provides day to discuss and broaden knowledge on non-contact football
Hamilton, Ontario - The Ontario Football Alliance (OFA) announced today that the 2021 Inaugural Ontario Football Mega Clinic, sponsored by Riddell Sports, will be adding an extra day to the event on May 27th focusing specifically on non-contact football.
The event will be approximately two hours and will take place over Zoom while simultaneously being live streamed over the Ontario Football youtube channel. The first hour will be hosted by former Laurier All-Canadian and CFL All-Star, Ken Evraire as he speaks with many male and female football players and leaders. This includes esteemed coaching figures such as Ottawa Redblacks Head Coach, Paul LaPolice, and McMaster Marauders Head Coach, Stefan Ptaszek.
"Much of my success as a "tackle" football player extends directly from my time playing non-contact football as a teenager! The experience served as a portal to new friendships that became lifelong bonds. It brought a value to my life that extended well beyond the final score of a game. When afforded the opportunity to be grateful, it just makes sense to pay it forward and that is what I believe will be part and parcel of this great event! Plus, I never pass up a chance to talk football!” Ken Evraire, former CFL All-Star
The second hour of the event will be an offensive and defensive breakdown hosted by Brian Hemming, the Flag Director of the Burlington Minor Football Association, who will cover the defensive side of the ball. Jenna Morais, three time representative of Team Ontario, and Andrew Mattew, Burlington Football’s Director of Player Development, will be covering the offensive side of the ball.
“This event promises to be a unique celebration of non-contact football that provides a nice launching point for non-contact football opportunities this year. I am excited to hear all of the great football stories in our zoom call. Viewers will also be impressed with the strong female contribution to non-contact" Rodney Moors, Ontario Football Non-Contact Development Co-Chair, said.
To coincide with this event, Ontario Football will also be releasing non-contact football content and participatory lessons on their Youtube channel so be sure to check that out. Make sure you follow along to their socials for any updates on the event.
