PROGRAMS MANAGER
JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE: PROGRAMS MANAGER
TYPE OF POSITION: FULL TIME/PERMANENT
LOCATION: Virtual
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
START DATE: September 27th/2021
ABOUT Football Ontario
Football Ontario, the sanctioned provincial governing body for football in Ontario, through its focus on community, growth, wellness and excellence, is engaged in providing football opportunities for all of Ontario. Football Ontario is driven by a commitment to deliver football programming, opportunities and resources for its members and the provincial football stakeholders.
OBJECTIVE
Lead the delivery and development of Football Ontario programs and events in conjunction with the Executive Director. Football Ontario is seeking an individual to serve as Technical and Events staff. This individual will report to the Executive Director and will be responsible for coordinating, developing and administering all activities related to high performance programming (Team Ontario), provincial events and all coach, official and athlete programming from grassroots to high performance . The individual shall guide and support the efforts of the Provincial Office Staff, Directors/Chairpersons, Committees, and other Volunteers in the fulfilment of their roles and duties.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Administration and support of grassroot programs (Flag football, Football Canada First Down, CFL Futures) for local associations

Leading the High Performance committee in the delivery of all high performance pathways including identification, events, development and competition

Leading the preparation, logistics and execution of recreation and high performance events
-
Manage the delivery of coach and official certification/professional development
-
Support high performance general managers and head coaches
-
Other tasks upon request

Manage High Performance (TEAM ONTARIO)

Manage Non-Contact Events
KEY ATTRIBUTES
-
Post-secondary degree preferable in Physical Education/Coaching or Sport Management.
-
Excellent oral and written communication skills
-
Strong team player with ability to work independently
-
Initiative and ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
-
Quick study and willingness to learn
-
Knowledge of Football
-
Travel will be required
-
Coaching background – certified NCCP Training or equivalent experience.

Experience delivering sport clinics and / or camps
-
Strong organizational skills.

Experience coordinating events
-
Computer knowledge in Windows, Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft Office (incl. Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Publisher) and Microsoft Outlook.

Ability and willingness to work some extended hours,
-
Have the ability and willingness to do some travelling approximately 5-7 weeks per year.
START DATE: September 27th/2021
COMPENSATION: Salary for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
