OFA Special Meeting
Friday, October 23, 2015
7pm-10pm
Toronto Airport West Hotel
5444 Dixie Road, Mississauga, ON
President Nominations:
George Thomson
I am asking for your support to become President of the OFA. As this will be my last season as President of the London Beefeaters.
I have been an active volunteer in amateur sports since my children were old enough to participate, as have many of the members of the OFA. Coaching, fundraising and officiating, in a variety of sports, soon became a passion and it wasn’t long before I found myself taking on positions on various committees and boards, continuing even after my children were no longer involved. I would like to continue that work with the Ontario Football Alliance. Ian Smith has faced a lot of the same challenges in football that were present during the time of turmoil in minor hockey. I applaud him for the work he has done to improve the situation to this point and would be proud to take over the reins of the OFA and continue his work for the betterment of football in Ontario. I look forward to the challenge.
