ONTARIO FOOTBALL IS PROUD TO ANNOUNCE ROB UNDERHILL AS U-18 TEAM ONTARIO HEAD COACH FOR 2021-2023
Hamilton, Ontario - After an extensive interview process with the new Ontario Football High Performance committee Rob Underhill, the current Special Teams Coordinator and Defensive Backs Coach for the McMaster Marauders as well as the Head Coach and Executive Board Member for the Varsity Tigercats will be the new U-18 Team Ontario Male Head Coach.
Underhill has a storied coaching career with over twenty-two years of coaching experience from youth football all the way up to the University level which provides him with the skills, and knowledge to bring the standard of excellence to Team Ontario where it needs to be. During his coaching tenure Underhill has had an extensive list of accomplishments with several team and individual awards:

“We are incredibly excited to have Coach Underhill become the head coach for our U18 Male Team Ontario that will compete next summer in the 2022 Football Canada Canada Cup in Vancouver.” stated Aaron Geisler Ontario Football Executive Director, “Rob understands the new vision we are trying to create with our high performance program by developing and creating a new culture and inclusive pathway into Team Ontario. He also understands what it takes to develop athletes and win Gold on the national stage.”
Underhill also has extensive experience with Ontario Football and Team Ontario being a part of the last gold medal winning team in 2014 as well as having coached with the team at the Canada Cup starting in 1999. In addition to his experience he excels in his ability to communicate with his players and fellow coaches while bringing an innovative thinking style to the table that will help shape the new vision of Team Ontario into the future.
"I am extremely honored and privileged to be selected as the 2022 Team Ontario U18 Head Coach. I am excited to begin the player identification and assessment process, in hopes of creating one of the most competitive Team Ontario squads ever. I look forward to working directly with Ontario Football and collaborating with our OUA, Junior, community and high school partners, in an effort to push football development and high performance throughout the province of Ontario,” says Underhill.
